Home & Community Based Staff

 You may rest assure that you or your loved one shall always receive professional services.

Home & Community Based Services administrative staff members work diligently to encourage and maintain each client’s wants and needs and that Plans of Care are followed.  In addition, they  ensure that all Direct Care Workers understand a very simple, yet, profound fact, “our clients are the driving force of this agency.”

 All Direct Care Workers are at least 18 years of age and have undergone a WV State Police Background Check,  WV DHHR Protective Services Record Check and a U.S. Office of Inspector General Exclusion List Check (monthly)

  All have received competency training and certification in:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • First Aid
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training
  • Personal Assistance/Homemaker Skills – Assisting client with Activities of Daily Living
  • Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation
  • HIPAA – Maintaining client and co-worker privacy and confidentiality
  • Direct Care Ethics – training on ethics such as promoting physical and emotional wellbeing, respect, integrity and responsibility, justice, fairness and equity
  • Client Health and Welfare – training  includes emergency plan response, fall prevention, home safety and risk management and training specific to any member special need


AND Dementia and Alzheimer Disease specific training:


  • The Person Comes First: A Practical Approach to Alzheimer’s Care
  • Communication skills
  • Psycho-social needs of clients (geriatric, social and psychological needs
  • Role of the respite worker

In addition, Direct Care Workers meet periodically throughout the year to maintain certifications and focus on enhancing direct care service delivery and skills.
